Lake Lanier Olympic Park
Stop Five of the Georgia Wake Series returns the contest wake scene to the largest body of water in the state, Lake Lanier. Although its immense popularity typically makes it a challenge for good water on the weekends, never fear. We've locked in the best stretch of the 690 miles of shoreline. Stop Five will be held at the site of the 1996 Olympic Rowing Venue, and with exception of our boats, is a No Wake Zone. That's right, we're going to have the flattest water on 38,000 acres of Lake Lanier, Saturday, August 19, 2017.
With more than two decades involved in the Georgia scene, and hailing from Lake Lanier, Tim Pratt says, "I'm happy that a grassroots wakeboard contest is returning to Lake Lanier again this year. We've needed something like this for years and it will be great to bring the young riders out to meet and compete with their peers from around the state." Tim, 44, who will be riding in the Expert division, said, "The conditions at the rowing venue were great last year and I'm looking forward to returning. And redemption."
