The Georgia Wake Series is excited to unveil the location of the final stop of the 2017 series, a location rich in wakeboard and waterski history, and one of world-class conditions. The 7th stop, which will crown the State Champions and conclude the series on Sunday, September 12, 2017, will be held on Lake Acworth at Cauble Park in Acworth, Georgia.
Tour Director Brandon Lee said, "We are pleased to be working with the City of Acworth to return a wakeboard event to this excellent location. With consistently smooth conditions and a large beachfront swimming and spectating area, Lake Acworth will guarantee an incredible experience for both riders and spectators alike as we watch the Championship battles conclude. Being less than 10 miles from Saturday's Stop 6 at Terminus Wake Park, this event will be convenient for everyone."
For nearly 20 years, many great events have been held at Lake Acworth. From the Shaun Murray winning the 1999 Pro Wakeboard Tour, to the Georgia Games in the early 2000's, to Ambush Board Co's various events throughout the late 2000's, to the 2013 Pro Wakeboard Tour stop won by 5x PWT champion Phil Soven, Cauble Park has been a staple in Georgia wakeboarding. Now, the Georgia Wake Series will add its mark, concluding the 2017 season in at Lake Acworth, a hub of Georgia's watersports history.
