The series consists of multiple events, each providing an opportunity to earn points for the overall Series Championships. We understand that some boat and cable riders might be stronger at one discipline over another and that progression can happen at a rapid pace. We encourage riders to "move up" as their capabilities improve. The GA Wake Series Points System accommodates both scenarios by allowing a rider to jump up or down a class depending on his or her skill level at that time in a specific discipline. The rider will earn points towards the overall series at each stop, regardless of the class.
A rider's Overall Series Class will be designated based on the highest class in which he or she rides. For example, a rider that participates in the Intermediate class on boat, but rides in the Beginner class for cable, will earn points under each respective class at each event and will be in the Intermediate class overall. This point system has been adapted from other action sports in creating a structure that provides a summer of fun and some suspense when we wrap up the Series.
Disclaimer: As with any points-accumulation type series, there is potential for abuse of the system. We are a grassroots wakeboard series - and we reserve the right to prevent sandbagging and manipulation of the Series Points system. Sole discretion rests with Georgia Wake Series and our independent judges.
